Awards Program Overview
The South Florida Branch of the American Public Works Association (SFLAPWA) Awards Program offers an excellent opportunity to recognize a specific person, a specific company, or firm you work with for a job well done. Each year the Branch recognizes our finalists at the SFLAPWA luncheon
Awards Categories
Category 1 - Professional Manager of the Year
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – PW Project Management/Construction Management
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – Solid Waste
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – Stormwater
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – Water and Wastewater
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – Facility and Grounds
- Professional Manager of the Year Award – Landscaping
Category 2: Exceptional Performance Award
- Branch Contractor of the Year Award
- Branch Consultant of the Year Award
- Administrative Support Award
- The Branch Chairman's Award
- Branch Sustainability Practices Award
Category 3: Branch Project of the Year
- Branch Transportation Project of the Year Award
- Branch Stormwater Project of the Year Award

Scholarship Program Overview
The South Florida Branch of the American Public Works Association (SFLAPWA) develops and supports the people, agencies, and organizations that plan, build, maintain, and improve our communities working together with the APWA and its members, providing higher and more sustainable quality of life.
The South Florida Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA) is designed to assist individuals pursuing a career in the public works field. Furthering the understanding of a wide range of disciplines from engineering, public administration, or continuing education for career enhancement of public agency employees is the Association's philosophy. This assistance in education promotes and ensures a continuation of the high level of skill, talent, and professionalism that is the pride of every member.
Scholarship Categories
The SFLAPWA sponsors a scholarship program for candidates in two (2) categories:
- UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM Awarded to a college student who is currently enrolled and must provide proof of acceptance or enrollment in an accredited college, university, or community college, seeking an Associate’s Degree or a Bachelor Degree (Civil Engineering, Environmental, Architectural, Public Administration, Construction Management or any government-related or public works related field. Up to $500 Award.
- GRADUATE PROGRAM (Master or Ph.D. degree): Awarded to a person who is currently enrolled and pursuing an advanced degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural, Public Administration, MBA, Construction Management or other Public Works related field at an accredited college or university. Up to $500 Award.
